Experiment Introduction
On the left, you can see one of two Directly-Follow-Graphs (DFGs) you will work with in this experiment. You should use this DFG to answer the upcoming questions.
DFGs are a specific process modeling notation used in process mining to visualize business processes:
- The nodes in a DFG represent the activities in a process.
- The edges represent the directly-follows relations between two nodes, meaning that one activity can be executed immediately after another one.
- A start activity in a DFG is an activity that starts the process. It has a directly-follows relation from the start symbol (depicted as a circle with a dot).
- An end activity in a DFG is an activity that ends the process. It has a directly-follows relation to the end symbol (depicted as a circle with a square).
- A path is an existing sequence of activities in the DFG that leads from a possible start to a possible end activity.
The two sliders on the right of the DFG allow you to adjust the activities (upper slider) and edges shown (lower slider). At the bottom, you can zoom in and out for a closer view of specific activities or paths.
Feel free to take a moment to explore and familiarize yourself with the DFG and its features. When ready, click Start Experiment to proceed to the questions, which will appear on the right one at a time.
